Did you know that GROW have had a meeting place in Portarlington for the last no of years. Meeting for a chat & a cuppa every Thursday at 2.15pm at the Social Services Centre on the Link road. For more information on Ports meeting contact Assumpta at 0868114135.


Once again Pat Burbage will climb Croagh Patrick on Monday July 8th with a group. If you would like to climb, then call in to Pat at his shop on Main St, or contact him on 0877716244. Proceeds once again goes to Port Meals on Wheels. If you can take a sponsor card, they are now available.


Clonohill Gardens will host an open weekend in aid of the Laois Hospice Foundation on Saturday & Sunday, June 29 & 30 from 2pm to 6pm. The gardens feature Woodland, Jacob’s Walk, Lawns punctuated by colour themed herbaceous borders and a Walled Garden full of treasures , overlooking Clonohill Lake.
Afternoon tea will be served and visitors are welcome to enjoy a lakeside walk while supporting Laois Hospice.
Clonohill Gardens are located adjacent to Laois Angling Centre, Coolrain, R32 NF 80
Admission €10 including afternoon tea. All are welcome.


Deepest Sympathy to the family of Martin Walsh, Whitefields Portarlington who passed away on June 8. Sympathy to Martin’s wife Pauline, brothers, sisters, extended family, neighbours & friends. May Martin rest in Peace. Funeral took place on Monday June 10 in Emo.

Toddler Storytime with Sarah Sparkles-Join us for a fun filled storytime suitable for children aged 0-4 years. 

Tidy Town Clean Up – Starting from the library on Wednesday June 19 at 10am Refreshments will be served in the library after the clean up.

Baby Book Club meets on Wednesday mornings at 10.30am.

Sensory Toy Resource Collection – a service for parents of children with additional needs who live in Co. Laois. The toys are designed to support the development of gross motor skills, fine motor skills and communication skills.
