The Goal Mile takes place on Christmas day at Port GAA Club at 11am. Run, Jog or Walk. No registration required, just turn up. Donate at gate. Sponsored by St Michael’s Athletic Club. For more information contact 087-1302899.
Dancing
Dancing continues every Monday night in The Gandon Inn, from 9pm to 11.30pm in aid of Portarlington St V de Paul. December 28 Dermot Lyons. Come along for a great night out. Admission €7. All welcome.

St Stephen’s Day Walk
Walk for the Laois Hospice takes place from Clonaslee Community Centre on St Stephen’s day. 10 Mile walk through the Sliabh Bloom Mountains, and Short walk of 3-4 miles. Portarlington Tidy Towns
Portarlington Tidy Towns calendar 2016 is available for sale for €5 in many shops throughout the town or can be purchased from Committee members. The calendar has twelve fantastic images of Portarlington and is a must have stocking filler for people near and far. All of the money raised from the calendar will go back in to enhancing the appearance of our town. The Tidy Towns committee would like to take this opportunity to thank the people of Portarlington for their ongoing support for the work of the committee and wish everyone a Happy Christmas
Christmas Extravaganza
We would like to thank everyone who supported our beautiful Concert in the Heritage on Sunday December 13. We had a full house which we were thrilled over. A big thanks to all our singers/artists on the night. You were all fantastic. We are having great feedback from all who attended.

Well Done Nicole!
Congratulations once again to Nicole Turner who swam in the Manchester Aquatic Centre in the British Para Swimming Championships. She won 5 Gold medals in 5 events. The events were 50m butterfly, 100m breaststroke, 100m freestyle, 200m IM and 400m freestyle. Nicole got the added bonus of achieving a new personal best time in her 200m IM.

Port Speakers will launch their “New Year, New You” Programme on Tuesday January 5. Coming back to work after a break? Want to make new friends? Want to polish up your presentation skills? Want to enhance your Communication and leadership skills? Port Speakers President Carmel O’Moore announced details of the New Year, New You programme detailing speeches of interest and communication workshops to be included in each meeting starting on Tuesday January 5 at 7.45pm in the Killenard Community Centre.
