The Christmas Shoebox Appeal is moving online!

Unfortunately, due to the effects of the COVID-19 restrictions, it is not possible to send gift-filled shoeboxes from Ireland this year.

A big well done to the staff at Adrian Dunne’s Pharmacy who got cycling last Thursday to raise money for the “Build it for Andy” fundraiser. A big well done to all who donated on the day. This fundraiser is dedicated to raising funds and sourcing donations of materials and labour, so that a home can be built for Andrea and her Partner & children. Andrea suffered life changing injuries due to Meningitis in February 2020.


The Heath Golf Club are holding a Charity Golf Classic in aid of the Cuisle Centre and Laois Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland on next Friday September 25.

Four Person Team Event at €80 per team. Timesheets on BRS at the Heath Phone 057 8646533. Best Men’s Team, Best Ladies Team and Best Mixed Team. Golf prizes kindly donated by Shaws Department Store.

Raffle lines will be on sale in the Heath Golf club & in the Alzheimer’s Resource centre with lots of prizes. Please support both charities if you can.

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Eileen Fingleton (nee Nee), Shandra Lane, Portarlingtn & formerly Kilcormac, Co. Offaly who passed away on Saturday September 12. Eileen will be sadly missed by her loving husband Andrew, daughters Carol & Emma, brothers Coleman & Martin, sisters Mary, Bridget & Ann, her aunt Maureen, extended family, neighbours & friends. Requiem Mass took place on Tuesday September 15 in St Michael’s Church, Portarlington, with burial in St Michael’s Cemetery. May Eileen rest in Peace.
