NEEDING ASSISTANCE

Sergeant Dave Lynam, Portarlington Garda Station has put out a message to the public.
“If you know of any vulnerable people, or anyone that needs assistance with anything, please don’t hesitate to contact the Station at (057) 8674100.”
Unfortunately they can’t be used to take people to appointments but are there for anything else.

BRIGIDINE REUNION

The organisers of the Brigidine Past Pupils Reunion, which was due to take place at the Keadeen Hotel, Newbridge, on Sunday, April 19, 2020, regret to announce that, due to to the Covid-19 coronavirus, we have had to cancel the event in the interest of health and safety.

 

FUNDRAISER

Please keep sharing & donating to these local fundraisers. Denise Geoghegan has been in the Mater hospital for over 2 months waiting on a heart transplant. Andrea Broughan is in Beaumont Hospital on life support after having major brain surgery. Please check out the Gofund me pages for these 2 young mothers & their families.
Also, baby Dan Donogher needs major treatment in America. Dan’s parents are Niall and Aisling (Nee Quigley) Donagher from Jamestown/Ballybrittas. Aisling is a member of staff at Portarlington Credit Union. Check out the go fund me page “Do it for Dan”. PLEASE SHARE SHARE SHARE.

SYMPATHY       

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Christina (Dinah) Kelly (nee Kearns), Derryvilla who passed away on Friday March 20. Dinah will be sadly missed by her husband Noel, son Sean, daughter Patricia (Rogers), son in law Michael, daughter in law Anne, grandchildren Michael, Aidan & Melissa, great grandchild James, her extended family, neighbours & friends. Requiem Mass took place on Sunday March 22 at St Michael’s Church, with burial after in St Michael’s Cemetery. May Dinah’s gentle soul rest in Peace.

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Seamus Mullally, Castlegate & late of Newbridge & Sandy Lane who passed away on Monday March 23. Seamus was predeceased by his loving wife Peggy. He will be sadly missed by his devoted daughters Elaine & Claire, grandchildren Cerys, Pippa & Stefan, son in law Paul, sisters Kathleen, Anne, Carmel & Bernadette, & his dear friend Mary, his extended family & many friends. May Seamus gentle soul rest in Peace. Funeral took place in Newbridge on Friday March 27. Remembrance Mass at a later stage for Seamus.
