Portarlington Friends together meet every Tuesday & Friday in the Scouts Den Main St from 2.30-5pm. Everyone welcome.
Come on down and have a cuppa and meet new people, and have a chat & a laugh.



St Michael’s AC are holding their annual 5k Charity Run/Walk at the Heritage Hotel Killenard on March 8 starting at 11am, registration from 9.30. Entry fee €10 per person.  This year it’s in aid of the Senior Citizens Annual Christmas Party, which is a great day out and enjoyed by everyone. Your support would be appreciated.

Deepest Sympathy to the family & parishioners of Very Rev John (Jack) Walsh, Rath Ballybrittas & Emo who passed away on Saturday February 1. Fr Jack will be sadly missed by his brother Thos, his loyal carer Margot, sister in law Hannah, nieces, Bishop Nulty, priests of the Kildare & Leighlin Diocese, former parishioners, cousins, extended family & friends. Requiem Mass took place on Tuesday February 4 in St Paul’s Church Emo, with burial after in the adjoining Cemetery. May Fr Jack rest in Peace.


Deepest Sympathy to the family of Des Copeland, Emo Park who passed away on Tuesday February 11. Des was predeceased by his son Frank. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Anne, daughter Aine, son in law Dougie, daughter in law Miriam, granddaughter Laura, his extended family & friends. Requiem Mass took place on Thursday February 13 in St John’s Church Killenard, with burial after in the adjoining Cemetery. May Des rest in Peace.

It’s that time of year again where we look for a big response with our main fundraiser of the year, the Laois Clubs Monster Draw with over €125000 in prizemoney to be won. There will be 4 monthly draws starting in March, with the last one in June. Tickets are €130 and are on sale from any committee member, and can be paid by in instalments of 4 x €32.50.
Bingo continues every Tuesday night in the GAA Centre at 8.30pm in McCann Park with up to €4,000 in prizemoney to be won.
