Volunteer drivers needed in the Offaly area to drive Offaly patients to and from their chemotherapy appointments in Tullamore Hospital and to our partner Dublin hospitals – St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Mater Hospital, Tallaght Hospital and St. James’s Hospital. Dancing in Aid of Portarlington St Vincent de Paul continues every Monday night in the Gandon Inn Hotel & Restaurant. Dancing on June 11 with John & Terry. Admission €8. Dancing 9.30pm to 12. A great night assured.

Bingo continues every Tuesday night at 8.30pm in the Port GAA Centre. Prize money given out each week is over €2,300.



Port Trail walking group are doing beginner’s walks every Monday night at 7.30pm from Park Lane, Car Park (beside the Medicentre). Also walks on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6.45pm. Come along & join them. Ph: Donie at 086-3288858 for more information.

Meet every Thursday from 4pm to 6pm at the old girl’s school on Patrick St.
Boys & girls aged 8 years & upwards. Instruments offered are: Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, Saxophone & Percussion. Instruments are provided. If you would like your child to learn an instrument please call to the school on Thursday evenings or contact Pat Donegan on 083-8510428.

AGM-The AGM of Portarlington Concert Band takes place on Friday June 15 @ 8pm in the Social Services Centre, Link road. All welcome to attend.




Deepest Sympathy to the Slevin family on the death of their brother Tom Slevin Rathfarnham, Dublin & late of Patrick St Portarlington who passed away on May 24. Tom will be sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, son Colm, daughter Emer, grandchildren, brothers Michael & Athony, sister Ann (Cobbe), extended family & friends. Requiem Mass took place in the Church of the Holy Spirit, Ballyroan, with burial in Bohernabreena Cemetery. May Tom rest in Peace.



Deepest Sympathyto the family of Moly McEvoy (nee Delaney), Cooaghy who died on Wednesday May 30. Molly was predeceased by her loving husband Jim, and she will be sadly missed by her sons John, Jimmy, Kieran & Michael, grandchildren, her extended family, neighbours & friends. Requiem Mass took place on Friday June 1 in St Paul’s Church Emo, with burial after in the adjoining Cemetery. May Molly’s gentle soul rest in Peace.
