CHRISTMAS MUSIC EXTRAVAGANZA
The 4th Annual Christmas Extravaganza takes place on Sunday December 17 at 8pm in the Heritage Hotel Killenard. Mulled wine reception from 7pm.
Tickets now available at €10 from the Love Port office in the Community Centre. Also from Julia Leavy, Margaret Guijt Lawlor, Lillian Shiels & Ann Bourke Dunne. Proceeds this year to the Amber Wellbeing Committee in Colaiste Iosagain. A great night’s entertainment assured as always.
50TH CELEBRATIONS
It was in November 1967 that 20 families received the keys to their new homes in St Brigid’s Sq. Numbers 53 to 72 was a buzz of excitement for these young families. Over the years the residents have become friends, great neighbours & have looked out for one another through the good & the hard times. They celebrated births & marriages & mourned the many neighbours who passed away over the years. Some houses have changed residents & some of the former residents attended the Pint O Port on Saturday November 18. Music was provided by Aidan Doyle & many stories were told of memories & good times. A large cake was cut by residents Eamon Doyle & Patsy Murphy. Also, people who could not attend were remembered & an audio message was played from Fergal O’Mahoney who now lives in Germany & was disappointed he could not be there to celebrate with the people he grew up with. Wishing all the residents continued good health & happiness.

PORT TEXT ALERT A.G.M
The Port Text Alert AGM will be held on Monday December 4 at 8pm in the East End Hotel. Over the past 12 months the committee have been working on establishing a Text Alert Service to cover the town of Portarlington, Killenard and the surrounding areas which are currently not covered by a community text alert service. At the AGM there will be an opportunity to sign up to the service which costs €10 a year. For additional information contact porttextalert@gmail.com or the Love Port Office in the Community Centre.
