PUBLIC MEETING TEXT ALERT
A PUBLIC MEETING is taking please on this WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 11 at 7.30PM in PORTARLINGTON COMMUNITY CENTRE (STUDIO 2). We are calling on all residents in Portarlington and surrounding areas who believe we need this service to come along and get involved. We need your help to get this up and running and to make it successful.
If you want more information or feel like you can help and want to get involved please get in contact with us. We are situated in the PCDA/Loveport Office, Community Centre, Link Road. KNIT / KNAT – SALE OF WORK
Sale of work will take place on Friday November 13 from 12 Noon to 3pm in the Social Services Centre (Meals on Wheels). Lots of lovely knitwear for sale / Raffle on the day. Proceeds in aid of Laois & Offaly Hospices. All very welcome.

Table Quiz
St. Brigid’s Community Alert are holding a Table Quiz in Direen’s Cloneygown on Saturday November 14 at 9 pm. There will be a raffle on the night, so any donations for prizes would be appreciated. €5 per person. They will make up tables or if you can fill a table all the better!!!! All proceeds are in aid of the ongoing costs of running their Text Alert. It is also a chance for you to meet and get to know your neighbours.

Dancing in aid of Portarlington St V de Paul on Friday November 13 @ 9.30-12 in the Gandon Inn. Admission €7. Music by John & Terry. Raffle on the night. Anyone with tickets out there could they please have them back before the night. Please note the change of date for this event.

Fundraiser
The Lea Castle committee are holding a Fundraiser in the Community Centre. The event is a Homemade Xmas Floral Arrangement. The event will take place on Tuesday November 10, 17, 24. Also Thursday November 12, 19, 26. Times 8-10pm nightly. Cost is €50 for 3 nights & you will get to bring home 3 arrangements. Greenery & oasis supplied. Bring your own flowers. Lea Castle Conservation Project
The Barrow Awards was held in the Seven Oaks Hotel in Carlow October 29. The Lea Castle Conservation Group won the county prize for Laois. The prize money was €300. The group would like to say thank you to all that contributed to the success of the project and congratulations to all the participants on the night. It was a pleasure to listen to all the projects that are currently being undertaken along the Barrow River.
