“An Old Man’s Wish – Music Video”
Having traveled the world on two luxury cruise ships for seven months and
performed in over twenty countries spanning four continents, the now
thirty-one year old Piano Man Tom returned to Ireland in 2015 eager to
rekindle his love for his native Ireland. Growing up, Tom always had fond
memories of listening to Big Ed on Midlands 103 Radio playing the
beautiful piece “An Old Man’s Wish” which is a a story about emigration
from Ireland, a familiar tale that few families in the country haven’t
been touched by.
Tom decided to record his own version of “An Old Man’s Wish” in 2016 and
he created a video to go with the recording. It has since received a huge
reaction online, gaining over fifty-thousand views on Facebook and
receiving hundreds of touching comments from people in Ireland and all
over the world.
There is much to see and do in Co. Laois. The Rock of Dunamaise, Emo
Court, Heywood Gardens, the many beautiful golf courses, and the lovely
walks are just a few of the attractions that the midlands has to offer.
And for those looking to splash out, there is the luxury Ballyfin Hotel.
Since April, 2015 Tom has performed as Resident Musician in the
beautifully restored building, voted the “No.1 Best Hotel in the World” by
the influential Conde Nast Traveler in America in October, 2016.
