McGiollaphadraig Way Walk
Brilliant weather greeted the big walk gathering on October Bank Holiday Monday at Cullahill Castle for the McGiollaphadraig Way Walk. The walkers re traced the steps of Cormac McGiollaphadraig resident of Cullahill Castle as he fled Cromwell’s men in the 1600’s making his way onto Cullahill Mountain where he was captured and slain. The beautiful views were then enjoyed before returning for some well earned refreshments in Dec’s Bar Durrow where the Bank Holiday raffle was also held with the following winners emerging: 1st Ann Dunphy, 2nd Tom Flynn, 3rd Ann Bambrick.
