A-Z of Abbeyleix/Durrow Enterprise Town 2017
We have over 60+ different business / groups / clubs / schools signed up to take part this year plus an action packed line up of local entertainment on the day.
The event is coming up this Saturday and rather than answering individual e-mails re detail for Saturday, I will outline the main details below and should you require any further clarification, please feel free to come back to me and I will work to answer any outstanding queries.
1: Set Up Time:
Heywood Community School hall will be open from 9am on Saturday Morning. The event is opening @ 11am and will run until 3pm.
We would encourage set up of displays from 9-10am and then to spend 10-11am on the morning sharing details with other exhibitors and spending time visiting the other stalls at the event.

2: Exhibitor Desk Space:
Each exhibitor stand will be 4ft X 2ft approx. with 2ft. spacing between stands. Each exhibitor row will have 3ft back to back to stalls.
This was a key learning from last year – we will not be providing chairs at each stall which is to encourage exhibitors to get out and about to work the room where possible.
There will be a number of chairs at the top of the hall should a chair be needed but in general, we would encourage greeting the public this year.
3: Parking:
There is ample parking for all the exhibitors but please don’t park in the Bus Set Down areas as they will have to be kept clear for Health & Safety reasons.
4: Table Clothes and Sweets:
Each exhibitor will be provided with a 4ft x 2ft space approx and to keep conformity, we will provide a white table cloth / sheet to cover your table.
Each table will be pre allocated and will have your name on a name plate on the morning. Please speak to any member of Bank of Ireland staff on the morning and we can direct you to your spot.
Due to the various groups, we will ensure that there is a mixed spread of businesses over the floor so please work with us in relation to table plan and we appreciate your cooperation with same.
From a networking point of view, we would encourage each stand to have a box of sweets or chocolates on the stand as people / children will general stop to take a sweet, chat and this is your time to have a discussion at your table.
5: Exhibitors Desk Prizes:
If you are having a prize at your desk on the day, please let any member of staff know in the morning, or prior to the day, so we can announce it throughout the day e.g: “Don’t forget to call and see 123 Ltd, who have a voucher / prize etc today and the winner will be announced later this afternoon..” Different exhibitors had contact & e-mail sheets / bowls for business cards etc that they used to get contact details and the winner of a prize was drawn from the names. The key thing with this is that you could potentially collect a lot of contact details on the day for follow up in the weeks after the event.
If you let a member of Bank of Ireland staff know, we can (a): have it announced during the day and (b): we can announce the winner just before we close the event @ 3pm.
6: Power:
We have a number of groups that have requested power at the venue. The hall has limited power points. We will try to facilitate as many request as possible but could I ask anyone who has a laptop to have them fully charged the morning of the event. If you have requested power, please bring along an extension lead as you may need to run power from one of the central point to your desk on the day.

Durrow and Abbeyleix are Enterprise Towns again! Come along and say hello.
7: Abbeyleix/Durrow Enterprise Town Facebook Page:
Over the last number of weeks, businesses are being tagged on the FB page. I can see that a number of visitors “Shared” these posts advising that they will be attending at the Abbeyleix/Durrow Enterprise Town event on their own facebook pages. Can I ask that each of the 60+ exhibitors check out the FB page and re-share your individual post with all your family, friends and clients. If every business could bring 10 contacts from friends, family, customers then you would have a room of 600 new potential members / customers / volunteers.
Please include it on any other social media sites that you are using to promote your business as Bobby Kerr has, stating “looking forward to attending and it will be a great day” So please use Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat accounts to spread the word!
8: Material:
Don’t forget to bring along your pop up banners, fliers / leaflets, business cards and details of what you do. The visitors that come through the doors are there to see what is on offer in Abbeyleix/Durrow and surrounding areas so this presents a great opportunity to promote your business and / or group. Last year’s exhibitors established business connections, new members and volunteers. The contacts you make this Saturday will potentially be contacts in 12 or 24 months when you might needs to get some information or purchase a service.
9: Finally….
….Enjoy the event!!!.
Use this opportunity to explore what is on offer on our own doorstep. The entertainment line-up will be great on the day, there will be a lot of support on the day and just meet and greet people like you do every other day. Take time to have a coffee or a treat, exchange cards /
