A Laois ‘Field of Dreams’

Down Syndrome Ireland “Laois Branch” wishes to thank most sincerely all those who organised and supported this fantastic fundraiser in any way.  Our thanks especially to the organisers and Gerald Kean who has offered €10,000.00 if we can get 3 to 4 acres of land for our own “Field of Dreams” here in Laois.

This offer has allowed our Down Syndrome Ireland “Laois Branch” families to dream of the possibilities for our adults in achieving meaningful work for a living wage and becoming equal participants in society here in County Laois.  Fully functioning members of our community when given the right supports to enable them to show what they can do, as opposed to what they can’t.

We are all hoping that we can achieve this dream for our members, who happen to have varying degrees of intellectual difficulty but their abilities far outweigh these difficulties.
