Denise Geoghegan is a young Portarlington woman who has found herself in bad health and is now active on the heart transplant list. Denise has been in hospital the past 8 weeks and will remain in hospital until she gets the transplant. The following fundraisers will be held in the coming weeks to support the Geoghegan family.

Next Friday March 6 from 10am to 2pm Adrian Dunnes Pharmacy Main St are holding a Coffee morning to support the Geoghegan family.
Friday night March 6 at 8.30pm Portarlington RFC are holding a Trivia Night at the Clubhouse to raise funds.
Saturday March 14 @ 5pm there will be a Charity Senior GAA Match in McCann Park between Bracknagh & Portarlington. Admission €10.

CHARITY RUN/WALK
St Michael’s AC are holding their annual 5k Charity Run/Walk at the Heritage Hotel Killenard on March 8 starting at 11am, registration from 9.30. Entry fee €10 per person. This year it’s in aid of the Senior Citizens Annual Christmas Party, which is a great day out and enjoyed by everyone. Your support would be appreciated.

Laois All Counties Draw-It’s that time of year folks where we look for a big response with our main fundraiser of the year. The Laois Clubs Monster Draw with over €125,000 in prizemoney to be won, with 4 monthly draws starting in March, and last one in June. Tickets are €130 on sale from any committee member and can be paid by in instalments of 4 x €32.50.
Bingo-Bingo continues at 8.30pm every Tuesday night in the GAA Centre in McCann Pk, with up to €4,000 in prizemoney to be won.

Laois Alzheimer’s are offering a week’s respite care to people who have a dementia diagnosis in Waterman’s Lodge Care Centre, Ballina/Killaloe, Co Tipperary. Their specialist overnight respite centre offers stimulation and activity to the person with dementia in a safe, friendly environment and respite from caring for the caregiver.
